LA Edition: Part 1

For those of you who may not be aware, my love for LA is insurmountable and forever growing.  Each time I visit, I fall more and more in love with this place.  The air is different, the people are genuinely nice and the warmer weather that exists, even with winter approaching, is a major plus.  I recently visited during the Thanksgiving holiday and decided to do an LA edition on the blog.  The style of dress will definitely be different when looking at ensembles for the City of Angels versus the Big Apple.  Known for having a more laid back vibe and chill atmosphere, this can be noticed in the pieces chosen for my LA trip.  You don’t really have to overthink it.  Simply a flannel or bomber jacket with nice jeans seems very fitting for the LA vibe.  Pictured here, I went with a cool bomber I purchased in New Orleans at Garb Boutique back in November.  Living in NY, I thought I was going to have to wait until spring to wear it but luckily I didn’t.  I paired the bomber with an over-sized Calvin Klein tee from Urban Outfitters, black denim from Old Navy and my favorite adidas. Comfy and stylish all in the same.  Normally I have jam packed days in LA, trying to soak it all in within the 5-day span, so comfort is key.  Check out more pics below and be sure to check back for other LA posts soon to come.

Untitled, Unmastered

Tour merch is definitely a hot commodity this year.  Kendrick Lamar performed back in November at Terminal 5 in NYC and had a ton of merchandise one could indulge in purchasing at the 1st Annual Kunta’s Groove Sessions. Being a huge fan of Kendrick, it was a no brainer when I saw this t-shirt.  I contemplated if I actually wanted to wear it or not, but figured it was too nice of a shirt to never wear.  The tour dates are listed on the back and started specifically on the best day in the world in my hometown, 10/27 (my birthday). I paired the tee with an oversized cozy sweater, black jeans and the seemingly hard to get Adidas NMDs. Stay tuned for the post about the NMDs.

AirMax Con

Nike hosted AirMax Con during 3/24-3/26 in which they showcased all Air Max and their influence on the sneaker culture and footwear industry over the years.  This was a pretty epic event, especially if you are into sneakers. They were a number of reputable people there including Mr. Flawless, a custom jewelry designer and Matt Senna, who’s craft includes casting and bronzing sneakers.  Kith made a statement by offering Kith Treats creatively named to correlate with the Air Max theme.  If you wanted to get a nice touch up on your sneakers, Jason Markk had a team there to get your shoes back spotless using their custom cleaning solution which can pretty much remove any scuffs or dirt from your shoes.  Trust me;  I saw this firsthand. Of course you could buy sneakers or make a custom pair to add your own flair to  a new set of kicks. I happen to like the Air Max 95′ and the Air Max Thea myself.  Check out some of the things I was able to see at the event below.
