BEC

imageAfter my recent visit to LA, I raved about the place Egglsut for their take on a simple breakfast; their bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a brioche bun.  Well guys BEC is coming as a strong competitor here in New York.  Same concept but their bun has bacon bits and cheese baked on top.  Yes! You read that correctly 🙂

I stumbled across this little gem while venturing in Chelsea for new eyeglasses and immediately jotted it down in my notes to come and check it out later. Well the day had come and I made my way back over to BEC to have breakfast for lunch.  It’s cue and quaint inside with the long wooden shareable bench seating along the wall and other small tables for dining in.  I went with the BEC classic which only seemed like the right thing to do.  The classic has  two eggs, bacon and sharp cheddar cheese on a brioche bun.  Not forgetting the bacon and cheese on top of the bun.  To stay within my breakfast themed lunch, I ordered freshly squeezed orange juice as well.  This sandwich literally melts in your mouth.  They’ve mastered this classic breakfast sandwich and added their own little twist to it.  I love when I find a new restaurant and they exceed my expectations.  Guys please give this place a visit if you’re in the Chelsea area.  You won’t regret it!

I was able to get my hands on this hoodie awhile back at YG’s pop up in NYC.  I love, love camo so getting this was a no-brainer for me.  I finally decided to pop the plastic and wear this.  Just an FYI,  this hoodie is greatly made and the material inside feels wonderful on my skin.  Now that that’s been covered back to the basics.  I simply paired this with black ripped denim from Old Navy.  Since its fairly cold, I wore fishnets underneath. I thought this gave a pretty cool look to have the nets show through the rips.  Also, fishnets keep you quite warm.  For the shoes, I immediately thought about a chill, Cali look.  You know what that means.  Bring out the classic vans!  These paired well with the camo and black.  Simple street style at its best. Check out more pics below.

Gucci’s Homecoming

On July 22nd, the world was finally able to hear the long awaited album ‘Everybody Looking’ from Atlanta’s own, Gucci Mane aka Guwop. Before there was knowledge of this album and its release date, upon Gucci’s return home, he announced the ‘Gucci and Friends Tour’ that would be hosted at The Fox in downtown Atlanta. My bestie, whom I love soooo much, purchased a ticket for me and just stated do my best to try to make it back down home. I immediately thought if Gucci’s home, I’m home and of course, I made it happen so I could be in attendance to this. The anticipation of what he would start the show with, which friends would also be performing, how many of my favorites would he perform, were all thoughts that I had until the lights dimmed and there he was.

In true Gucci fashion, it was only right to open the concert with one of my personal favorites ‘First Day Out’. Zaytoven, a highly renowned producer for many of Gucci’s classics, played the piano and we all started rapping the words. The show continued with many other hits, some mainstream and others for true fans of Gucci, such as Freaky Girl, Trap House,I’m a Dog, Go Head, Photoshoot and So Icy just to name a few. Now to the guests. I was overwhelmed with pure joy when I saw Future come out to one of his DS2 tracks, Stick Talk. Shortly thereafter he was joined by the one and only Drake. They performed Jumpman together from their #1 album, What a Time to be Alive and Drake also blessed us with Enemies and joined Gucci for their new summer tune, Back on Road. As if Future and Drake weren’t enough, Gucci’s friends also included OJ da Juiceman, 2 Chainz, Young Dolph and Peewee Longway. To say the concert was great, would be an understatement. Seeing that I was born and raised in Atlanta and love all things about my city, Gucci Mane was definitely a huge part of my lif, especially back in my college days for sure. To be home for this and to rap along to all of my favorite Gucci classics right alongside my best friend was definitely a night to remember.

Day trip in AC

IMG_9272

This past weekend, I decided to do a day trip to Atlantic City.  Round trip tickets are just $40 on the bus from Penn Station so why not?  After doing a bit of shopping, of course you have to make your way to the infamous Atlantic City boardwalk.  There are casinos, plentiful food options and a mini amusement park to name a few things for leisure activities.   In terms of food, Hard Rock cafe was the go to for the day trip.  I decided to go with the hickory barbecue bacon cheeseburger and to my delight, was able to add a fried egg.  I also went with the purple haze for my cocktail, which is a pretty bomb choice.  There are many places to choose from if you ever visit the boardwalk in Atlantic City but you cannot go wrong with a burger from Hard Rock!

A hint of blue

IMG_8034

I’ve always been a fan of patterns and these plaid ankle pants were a must have for me. Old Navy often has tons of good finds and they happened to have these pants which I bought without hesitation. Neutral colors like gray and black look so classic to me at all times so to jazz it up a bit, I try to add color either in the shoe or with an accessory.  With this ensemble, I chose to add a hint of blue with the shoes.  I tend to wear a ton of black just to give you guys a heads up.  Stay tuned to see what colors I choose to wear with it.

Space Jam

IMG_7702

I found this Tune Squad jersey at a thrift store for just $5 in Brooklyn.  Yes, $5!! Space Jam was a classic movie that I watched over and over as a kid so when I saw this it was a no-brainer for me to cop it.  We can all agree the Tune Squad was definitely a good makeup of our now squad goals.  I paired these with the 11s, not quite the Space Jam ones, but equally as fresh. Jerseys are seeming to make their way back in as hot commodities so I definitely wanted to join the party and add this to my collection.
