It’s all in the patterns

This patterned coat was a must have as soon as I laid my eyes on it at H&M.  It can be paired with many ensembles and adds the perfect touch.  You can never go wrong with all black and a pop of color here and there.  I decided to add the brimmed hat for a bit of flair and the cherry wine oxfords just because they are my new favs and pairs greatly with this outfit. Don’t forget to grab a nice clutch or small purse for your necessities!

Brooklyn Inspired

IMG_6868 (1)

Being a Brooklyn resident has definitely influenced my style over the past 3 years.  Often times you see people dressed with minimal pieces yet it stands out and makes a statement.  The plaid pants and oxfords pictured here surely give off the hipster vibe along with my favorite brimmed hat.  Originally I am from Atlanta and I can attest to the fact that an individual’s style is indeed inspired by their environment and choice of residence.  I am still true to Atlanta at heart but by way of Brooklyn, my new favorite pieces surely showcase my new style inspired by a borough I have also come to love and embrace as my home.

Trapsoul

IMG_7362

Many may be asking just who is this Bryson Tiller guy?  The one who has pretty much taken over the R&B lane and everyone’s girl in the process.  The melodic tunes over somewhat harder trap beats, for lack of better words, creates a sound that is perfect for today’s genre of music and what we now characterize as an R&B artist.  Very similar to the soundof Partynextdoor, you cannot deny that Bryson is indeed one of the best in the game right now and headed to the top at a very fast pace.  I had the pleasure of attending the Trapsoul tour in New York at Webster Hall and this was an unforgettable show.  Me, along with the other attendees of the first sold out show, sung nearly every word of each track as he performed the Trapsoul album in its entirety along with a few other tunes that he has released this far.  I am so glad I was able to attend this concert in such an intimate setting.  There was a recent interview with Bryson in which he was in fact enlightened about the big deal it was to be sold out at Radio City Music Hall in New York city. I will probably not see Bryson so close and personal again for the price that I did so I definitely showed my appreciation by joining in on all of the songs and lived in the moment of this frenzy behind this humble R&B crooner that has for surely won the hearts of many.

Chic meets street

IMG_7240

Living in New York, the main thing that I have come to focus on is being comfortable.  A lot of my clothes are not that casual but I’ve learned I do not have to compromise my look .  It’s perfectly fine to incorporate sneakers and still be quite stylish.  Here I kept it pretty simple with a black turtleneck, faux fur vest and faux leather pants paired with the Jordan 11’s.  Now this is when chic meets street.
