Wedding Bells

I felt it was only right to share one of the biggest moments of my life thus far, my big day :-).  After months of planning and becoming a mini bridezilla in the final days leading up to this moment, the day had finally arrived.  The Grand Hyatt in Buckhead Atlanta was the place where all the magic happened.  I decided to stay there the night before to make things easier for myself and the bridal party.  The day started around 7am and I went nonstop until the reception ended.  After hair, makeup and many mimosas and cocktails later, it was time.  Just after the sunset it was time for me to make my debut. My dad and I had a little “prep” talk and shortly thereafter made our grand entrance.

I really understand now when people say to be in the moment.  It all went by so fast but boy was it fun! Just to have family and friends travel to see us share our nuptials was special enough.  Now fast forward to the reception.  I made it my duty to ensure my husband and I were not one of those couples that do not eat at their reception.  The food was too good not to! After dinner, cake cutting and silly photo booth sessions, we danced the night away. Literally.

There are three things I will always remember about our big day. First is the father daughter dance. My dad and I are huge Prince fans so I picked his most fitting classic ‘The Most Beautiful Girl’ for our dance.  I probably sang as much as I moved my feet but the look in my dad’s eyes was priceless.  Second would have to be the toast given by the best man, my husband’s brother.  He spoke so highly of his role model and mentor aka his big brother aka my hubby.  He also said so many great things about the sister he was gaining and made me tear up. Love him to pieces!  Last but not least, I cannot forget the look in the eyes of my lifetime partner when I said “I do”.  It was such a great moment and I will never forget the great memories made on September 25, 2016.  A special thank you to each and everyone that helped contribute to making this day a success.  Meet the Douglas’
